When you first receive your new OTTY mattress, it is important that you give it time to wear in - like a brand-new pair of shoes! This is important, not only because you have been sleeping on something completely different for the past few years (or more!), but also because the mattress itself, having been tightly packed into its packaging, will need time to fully expand and soften up, achieving its optimum comfort and support.
The materials used in the mattress are still taking time to fully take shape and to achieve their full, final firmness.
As you move around in your sleep, or stay in one position, the foam and springs around you will adjust and after the initial few weeks, adjust to your body.
The mattress needs to be rotated head to toe once per month for the first 12 months, then once every 3 months thereafter. This will help to spread the weight out evenly and ensure longevity of the mattress.
