We’d recommend that you leave your mattress in its box for no more than 4 weeks.
How long do I have to leave the mattress to expand before sleeping on it?
It will take up to 8 hours for the mattress to reach its usable size once unpacked and unwrapped.
Occasionally it can take a few days to reach its full comfort and size and the corners can be the last parts to fully expand.
Which way up does the OTTY mattress go?
If the logo is the right way up, so is your mattress.
What bed frame can be used with my OTTY mattress?
Your OTTY mattress can be used with a slatted, platform, divan, ottoman or adjustable bed frame but can not be used on thin steel bed bases with steel supports. Please check with the online chat staff for further advice.
Will the mattress have that brand-new smell?
Like anything new, the OTTY mattress may have a slight odour when first opened. After all, it was tightly sealed in plastic wrap before we delivered it! But don’t worry, this will disappear in a day or two. We recommend leaving the window open in the bedroom while the mattress is expanding for the first day or two, after which the smell should be gone. The smell is a standard odour created by foam and memory foam products and is not harmful or toxic in any way.
How long should I allow myself to get used to my new OTTY mattress?
When you first receive your new OTTY mattress, it is important that you give it time to wear in - like a brand-new pair of shoes! This is important, not only because you have been sleeping on something completely different for the past few years (or more!), but also because the mattress itself, having been tightly packed into its packaging, will need time to fully expand and soften up, achieving its optimum comfort and support.
You rotate your new mattress once a month for the first few months, especially if you are sleeping alone or with a partner whose weight is much different from yours. This will help to spread the weight out evenly and ensure the longevity of the mattress.
We advise you to give the mattress at least 30 nights to get used to the mattress and for your body to adjust.
What is the neutral-coloured/ grey cover/bag that arrived with my mattress order?
This is a cover/bag that can be used to protect the mattress when returning or transporting it. To add we are removing the packing bag to save on plastic and waste and this might not be included in your box
